Tomb Raider 1

Overview: 
The first Tomb Raider was realeased in 1996 by Core Design and published by Edios Interactive. Tomb Raider followed the adventures of Lara Croft a British female archaeologist in search of ancient treasures. In 1998 Tomb Raider Gold was released, which is basically the original game plus four bonus levels. If you already have TR1 you can get the extra levels for free-here. The game was commercially and critically successful, and is considered widely influential. It spawned a number of sequels and a franchise of related media. 
Summary: 
In TR1, Lara is hired by Jacqueline Natla, CEO of Natla Technologies. Her job? To find a mysterious artifact in a Peruvian tomb. After Lara recovers the artifact she finds it is part of the Scion, an ancient relic from the lost continent Atlantis. Later finding out she isn't the only one after the artifact, Lara pursues for the rest of the relic before the others can. But it's almost to late to realize that Natla isn't who she says she is.  
Features: 
•Walk, jump, run, side-step, hang on ledges, roll over, dive, and swim through water as Lara, while you explore the diverse levels. 
•Equip Lara with her twin pistols, complete with unlimited ammo. Or as you progess pickup the shotgun, dual magnums and dual Uzis and blast your enemies to pieces. 
•Watch out for plentiful traps and enemies that can unexpectedly end Lara's adventures. 
•Pick up ammo, aretifacts, keys, and medipacks as you progress.

Tomb Raider 2

Overview: 
Tomb Raider 2, the sequel to the 1996 Tomb Raider game was released in 1997, it was one of the most anticipated games of 1997. TR2 sold rapidly, and quickly surpassed the original Tomb Raiderin sales. A gold edition of Tomb Raider 2 was released two years after, it includes five bonus levels and can be downloaded for free- here.  
Summary:
  In TR2 Lara Croft, archaeologist and adventurer goes after the Dagger of Xian. But as usual Lara isn't the only one after the artifact. Marco Bartoli, cult leader of the Fiamma Nera clan is after it, and like Lara, he will not stop until he gets it.  
Features: 
•Lara can now climb up ladders, wade in shallow water, and perform a mid-air roll. 
•Equip new weapons like the harpoon gun, for battle under water. A grenade launcher, an M16 rifle and automatic pistols (replacing the magnums from TR1) also help Lara on her quest. 
•Now flares can be used to light up dark corners. 
•A motoboat in the Venice level and snowmobile in the Tibet level will assist Lara in traveling long distances, going over ramps to cross huge gaps, or simply running over enemies.

Tomb Raider 3

Overview:
  The third installment of Tomb Raider came out in 1998. The game follows Lara as she tracks down four meteorite stones scattered across the world. Tomb Raider 3 was the first game that allowed the player to chose the order of the levels they wanted to play. 
Summary: 
When you begin the game Lara is searching the ruins of an ancient Indian temple for the Infada Stone. After encountering a RX tech worker who seems to be insane Lara continues on. But after parting ways, the researcher beats Lara to the artifact and gains supernatural powers. After killing him she meets Dr. Willard, the head of RX Tech. He explains the origins of the stone, that this stone is auctually only one of four pieces. Lara's search for the artifact crosses the world, taking Lara to London/England, Nevada/USA, the South Pacific Islands/Oceania, and at the end Antarctica. When Lara meets Dr. Willard in Antarctica she discovers his true intentions on using the stone.  
Lost Artifact 
Lost Artifact is the sequel to Tomb Raider 3, and centers around a fifth artifact created from the meteor. Lara explores the castle of Dr. Willard, the advances to the Channel Tunnel in Dover. Then Lara is off to the Paris Catacombs and the Poissy Zoo where she meets Sophia Leigh who is also searching for the artifact.  
Features:
  •Lara can now crawl, "monkey swing", crouch, and sprint. 
•The semi-automatic pistols have been replaced by Desert Eagle and the M16 rifle has been changed to the MP5 sub-machine-gun. The rocket launcher was also added.
